A story of remarkable renewal
Xigera is our love letter to the magic of the African bush.
Okavango Delta, Botswana
The story of Xigera Safari Lodge is one of renewal. Of rebirth and family legacy, and of the pioneering spirit that drives us to seek out Africa’s wild spaces. The same spirit that inspired this remarkable reimagining, perhaps a complete reinvention, of an Okavango Delta safari.
This is Xigera (pronounced ‘kee-jera’), named for the Pied Kingfisher that makes its home amid the watery channels of Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve.
Every aspect is handcrafted to beguile our guests’ senses and stir their souls – from the evocative interiors to one-of-a-kind encounters.
But Xigera is equally a line in the sand. A raising of the bar. A bold statement in the realm of luxury safaris, and an Okavango Delta safari experience like no other.
"Hotel 41 was the original Grand Ballroom of The Rubens Hotel, popular with debutantes and others associated with Buckingham Palace. I have been the General Manager here for nearly 20 years and, as a team, we are so proud to hold the prestigious Forbes Five-Star rating. We have also been recognised on Tripadvisor as the number one hotel in the UK for more than a decade.
A chic, monochrome design runs throughout the hotel, complemented by mahogany-lined walls and smart leather furniture. Our residents-only Executive Lounge is the beating heart of Hotel 41, and we invite guests to relax here in an oasis of calm. Our charming and thoughtful staff work to your timetable and are always on hand to assist you.
Indulge throughout the day with delicious complimentary snacks and our unique 'Plunder the Pantry' concept in the evening. Try our honesty bar or simply allow our wonderful team to prepare your favourite drinks, served with the generous hospitality for which we are renowned. I would certainly suggest enjoying our Rooftop Bar when open on a warm day, and ‘press for Sabrage’ to learn the ceremonial technique of opening a bottle of Champagne with a sabre.
41 is a very special hotel and one that I feel honoured to be at the helm of. We look forward to welcoming you to our hidden sanctuary overlooking the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace very soon."
