A story of remarkable renewal
Xigera is our love letter to the magic of the African bush.
Okavango Delta, Botswana
The story of Xigera Safari Lodge is one of renewal. Of rebirth and family legacy, and of the pioneering spirit that drives us to seek out Africa’s wild spaces. The same spirit that inspired this remarkable reimagining, perhaps a complete reinvention, of an Okavango Delta safari.
This is Xigera (pronounced ‘kee-jera’), named for the Pied Kingfisher that makes its home amid the watery channels of Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve.
Every aspect is handcrafted to beguile our guests’ senses and stir their souls – from the evocative interiors to one-of-a-kind encounters.
But Xigera is equally a line in the sand. A raising of the bar. A bold statement in the realm of luxury safaris, and an Okavango Delta safari experience like no other.
"Located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we offer a boutique retreat in an atmosphere of Victorian elegance, overlooking verdant, private residential gardens.
A short walk from the hotel are world-renowned attractions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, Science Museum and the Royal Albert Hall, alongside Kensington Palace and Gardens in Hyde Park. Also on our doorstep are the famous department stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols and the many high-end fashion boutiques of Knightsbridge.
We are proud of our award-winning traditional Afternoon Tea and our beautiful Bar, which offers London’s most famous martinis. Our neighborhood, which is a leading art and design district, is echoed throughout the hotel in the original works of art by artists such as Toulouse-Lautrec, Erte, Ludwig Bemelmans, ‘Peanuts’ cartoon creator Charles M. Schulz, British cartoonist JAK and French caricaturist Sem.
We are wholly committed to sustainability: we use locally sourced produce for our menus, conduct food waste management procedures, have eliminated single-use plastics, and operate entirely without paper.
I have been General Manager of this beautiful townhouse hotel, which was recently recognised with a Forbes Five-Star rating, since 2012 and genuinely consider each member of my team to be part of my Egerton family. My team are chosen for their instinctual desire to care for our guests, including our adored canine visitors. We are here to welcome guests to experience the hotel and all the wonderful places that surround us."
